Inhaled essential oil therapy is the best recommended route of administration when choosing to use essential oils as a complementary aid to manage feelings of distress, fatigue and nausea. This is especially true for hospital use.
We have 3 types of easy-to-use delivery systems that allow you to use our aromatic blends safely. These are tube inhalers, disposable tabs called QuickTABS, and Clippy’s - a coin-sized clip-on disc. Here’s a breakdown of how to use each of them...
Tube inhalers
Our twist-and-inhale tubes are perfect for quick, on-the-go relief and management of distress, no matter what the cause or where you are. Discrete and personal, all you need to do to use your inhaler is twist the lid to open to expose the vent, and hold the tube up to your nose to breathe in the scent.
The low ambient concentration of essential oil vapor is only released into the immediate vicinity of the user when the tube is opened, as is with all of our delivery systems. Remember to always close your inhaler after use to conceal and preserve the scent.
Blends that come in tube inhalers: QueaseEASE, FOCUS, STILL, EXPECTING and CLEAR
QuickTABS are disposable 3” by 2” container tabs that hold 72 hours worth of our signature essential oil relief blends. QuickTABS are ideal for single-use in hospitals, for patients feeling anxious before going into surgery, or recovering from anaesthesia post-surgery, for those experiencing bouts of PONV, and as part of a hospital’s ERAS program.
However, anyone can choose to use QuickTABS if this is your preferred delivery system. QuickTABS releases a low ambient concentration of essential oil vapor when opened, that can only be detected when the user holds the device up to their nose and breathes in.
To use your QuickTAB, peel open the seal from the bottom up and hold the device up to your nose, or place it onto your pillow next to you, or your patient, while lying down.

The Clippy is a compact clip-on aromatic inhaler, created for management of patient anxiety or stress and PONV management, that can be used in conjunction with the Soothing Scents DuoBAND P6 acupressure wristband.
To use it, simply peel back the seal to release the low ambient aroma. This delivery system is best for in-hospital use, as it can be easily administered by medical professionals to their patients, and then taken home as part of the recovery process.
The Clippy has a flexible fastener on the back, which allows it to be attached to clothing, oxygen delivery devices, or the DuoBAND P6 acupressure wristband.
DuoBAND P6 acupressure wristband
The DuoBAND is used in conjunction with the Clippy delivery system. These wristbands come to two sizes - small (5-7 inches) and large (6.25-7.75 inches).
The DuoBAND is ideal for those who need quick access to their relief blend. The low ambient concentration of essential oil vapor used in the Clippy delivery system will not affect those around in the same proximity of the user, and can only be detected when the user holds their wristband to their nose to inhale.
To use the DuoBAND, slide your preferred Clippy blend into the wristband and place it firmly onto the wrist, resting on the P6 acupressure point that is three fingers breadth from the base of the palm of your hand. Inhale the aroma by placing the wristband under your nose and breathing in.
The DuoBAND is latex-free and bacteria-resistant.
